Two-way recycling/separating bins are provided within the kitchen area one for non-recyclable residual waste, one for recyclable waste.

Recyclable plastics generally include all plastic bottles that are found in the kitchen, the bathroom and under the sink, such as washing up liquid and bleach bottles. Any other type of plastic, such as plastic bags, food trays, yoghurt pots, plastic film, and plant pots, cannot be recycled and should be placed in your non-recyclable rubbish bin - as well as items like children’s toys, unless they are in a good enough condition to reuse or send to a charity shop.

All glass, cans, tins, plastic bottles and foil, paper, newspapers and cardboard should. be placed in the appropriate recycling bins.

The Body Corporate is responsible for the central collection of general waste, recyclables and compostable material. All waste is collected under contract to the Body Corporate.

Apartment owners can take their own separated waste to a waste chute within the core for general and recycling waste. These are linked to waste storage areas. Please ensure that all general waste being placed down the rubbish chute is bagged. No individual food scraps and waste should be placed in the chute.

Glass and larger items such as cardboard boxes will need to be taken by occupants directly to waste storage areas located on the lobby level. Please break down all card board boxes and large recyclables, DO NOT place these items down the rubbish chute.

The current assumptions for the frequency of waste collection are as follows:

• General Waste – five times per week

• Recycling – two times per week

The Body Corporate may adjust these frequencies to suit demand.
