Access Cards

Your access card is programmed to unlock the lifts and some entry doors relevant to your apartment. Your access card is used to unlock the front door of your apartment, no physical key is required.

You have been provided with access cards, remotes and keys for: your apartment; car park area and mailbox. Please keep these safe and do not write or etch anything on them that could link them to Victoria Lane Apartments.

There is an access card reader adjacent to the doors for the:

·       Ground floor lobby entrance to Victoria Lane apartment building

·       Stairways (for entrance to secure floors only; free egress for exit)

·       Lobby entrance from the mezzanine floor

There are access card readers adjacent to most doors throughout the building.

Please ensure you always take your swipe card with you to ensure that you can get around and back into the building if you exit. There is free egress for exits (i.e., free exits into the stairwells, carpark and ground floor lobby).

To access areas controlled by access card readers, present your card on the reader; a beep will sound, the blue light will turn green, and the door will unlock. If your card is not recognised, there will be a double-beep and the door will not unlock – contact the Resident Services Manager for assistance.

Reporting Lost or Requesting New Access Cards

The Resident Services Manager holds a register of access items issued for your apartment and will be able to request new ones as required. If you have any questions about this service or the costs relating to it, please contact the Resident Services Manager.

A service fee will be charged to provide new or replacement fobs.

Lock-Out

The Resident Services Manager has a Master Access card. They will not be allowed access to your apartment unless you specifically give permission. In the event of an emergency the RSM will be able to access your apartment. In the case of a lock-out, call the Resident Services Manager for assistance; please note that there will be a charge if a contractor is required to come onsite and assist, or this occurs out of hours.

Entry to your apartment

To open the door, use your programmed access card provided to you upon settlement. Present your card on the reader; a beep will sound, the blue light will turn green, and the door will unlock.

Exit – Automatic lock

Automatic lock, the door will automatically lock behind you.

Ground Floor Lobby & Lift Access

Lobby entry -

There is an access card reader next to the doors into the secure ground floor lobby area.

Present your swipe card on the reader to release the doors. They will open for 3-4 seconds and will close behind you automatically.

Lobby exit -

There is an exit button on the wall, inside the lobby doors.

Press the button to exit. The doors will open for 3-4 seconds and will automatically close behind you. The emergency door release located next to the exit button is for use in an emergency only. Using this will open the doors fully and will require security guard attendance to reset if activated. 

Intercom

There is a wall-mounted intercom in all apartments. This will ring to alert you when you have a visitor waiting outside who has called up to your apartment. You will be able to see your visitor on the screen and speak to them. Use the key button to open the lobby door for your guest – this will also give them access to the lift to get to your floor only for a short amount of time.

Lift Access

Press the lift call button. Once inside the lift, present your swipe card on the reader. Select your floor. Your access card will only grant you access to your floor and the carpark levels.

Car Park Access

If you’re on a lower parking level, you can access the car park by exiting out of the main entry to the right and walking down the ramp to the car park. If your park is on the upper two levels, you can exit to the rear of the main lobby through to the mezzanine and top parking level.

Entry via the roller door

By car: The Victoria Street entry requires you to use your carpark remote to open the roller door. Dixon Street carpark entry, you will use your access card on the card reader - located on the right hand side as you near the roller door.

Exit via the roller door

By car: For the exit, as you approach the entry/exit, there is a motion sensor that recognises the car and will open the roller door automatically. The door will close behind you after 30 seconds.

By bicycle or on foot:  You will need to use your access card via the Gallagher Mobile connect app for access.

Maintenance Access

Access into your apartment will be required for inspections of the air-conditioning filters, fire systems and alarm sounders on a periodic basis. The Resident Services Manager will contact you to arrange access as necessary.
