Moisture and Condensation

Condensation is steam or water vapour that turns into water by condensing on cold surfaces. The moisture in the air comes from a number of sources within the house – water vapour is produced in relatively large quantities from normal day to day activities such as washing and drying clothes, personal washing and cooking.

To help reduce condensation you should take the following steps:

·       Always turn the rangehood on when cooking.

·       Always have the shower extractor on when showering.

·       Dry clothes using a condensing clothes dryer, do not hang dripping clothes to dry within your residence.

·       You can help ventilate your home by opening a window or external door within the apartment.

·       Close the bathroom doors when these are in use. This stops the moisture reaching other rooms.

Thermal Comfort

When air conditioning is operating windows should be closed so the mechanical ventilation system can run efficiently.

Service Access Hatches
