Hard-wired kitchen appliances such as the oven have labelled power isolation switches nearby.
Within larger apartments and selected others, there is a master light switch by the main entrance. This allows you to turn off all active lights when you leave. The active lights will resume when the master switch is turned back on.
Your apartment has been set up with an ONT (Optical Network Terminal). If you have not already arranged a phone and/or internet connection, all you need to do is call your preferred internet service provider and arrange a connection.
Data:
The data points in the apartment (generally located for TV or land-line phone), are linked back to the data plate near the ONT. If, for example, instead of using Wifi you want to have your TV hard wired to the internet, you would use an RJ45 patch cable to connect from one of the spare router ports, to the nearby data port. Patch cables are available from places like JB Hifi, PB Tech, The Warehouse, etc.
The data ports are labeled under the cover plate. Please see instruction to how to remove the cover plates carefully to avoid causing any damage to the fibre connection.
The HD zone in your apartment acts as a hub for your communication tools and networks, e.g., intercom, phone, internet, TV and computer. It contains important technical equipment and patch panels to link outlets around your apartment into the various technical networks.
It is important that only skilled technicians/engineers are given access to the HD zone due to the level of interconnected equipment within it. Please contact the Resident Services Manager if you have any queries about how your HD zone is set up.
When signing up to your chosen internet provider, please quote your address to the Service Providers for ordering purposes.
